Miami-FL hits Top Forty Daily Double!

November 18th, 2015 | by Van Coleman

Jim Larranaga and his Miami Hurricane Staff hit the Daily Double as the early signing period ended, receiving commitments from two top forty talents in 6-3 scoring guard Bruce Brown and 6-10 Dawan Huell!

The first to sign with the Canes was the 6-3 Brown from Saxton River, VT Vermont Academy, our No.39 rated senior. He chose the Hurricanes over Indiana, Purdue, Xavier and Massachusetts.

The explosive scorer will give the ‘Canes a game breaker type threat from three to the hoop. He csn create the drive with either hand and has range to the NBA arc. He is a tough kid who caught our eye two summer’s ago at the AAU’s with his ability to make plays on both ends of the court. Look for him to become a go to guy for Coach Larranage in the future.

He was joined just a couple hours later by big man Huell, our No.28 rated senior, from Miami, FL Norland, who chose Miami-Fl over South Carolina and Florida State.

Huell is a long and athletic face-up four who has range to create space and solid blaa skills to attack opposing bigs off the dribble. He can pick and roll, then finish with kiss or dunk in traffic. He is a solid shot blocker who rebounds out of his zone, and has the quickness to outrun opponents end to end.

This talented duo, along with 7-0 Oak Hill Academy big man rodney Miller gives the ‘Canes a top fifteen class to build on for 2016!
