Kentucky adds third top ten prospect for 2016!

John Calipari and his Kentucky staff closed the early signing with a trifecta of top ten talent capped off with the decision on No.4 rated senior Malik Monk, 6-4 guard from Bentonville, AR deciding to sign with the Wildcats! He made his announcement on twitter:

“This has been the toughest decision I have made in my life,” Monk said. “With so many great coaches and historical programs recruiting me, it has really been a tough but fun process. With that said, I will continue my maturation as a student athlete at the University of Kentcky!”

He chose Kentucky over his other finalist Arkansas, he also visited Oregon and

Monk is an explosive scorer who averaged 19.4 points a game on the EYBL Circuit while hitting just over 36% from beyond the 3-point arc. He has great quicks wiht the ball in the open court or off the dribble and is known for his electerifying drives that he finishes with big-time highlight dunks in the lane. He is a tremendous play maker who can also lock down opposing guards with his quickness and length. He will give the Wildcats a go to offensive talent with the ability to score from the NBA arc to the rim!

He joins fellow top ten talents 6-9 Bam Adebayo and 6-3 De’Aaron Fox in the ‘Cats number one rated class, along with a talented trio of front court talent in 6-11 Sasha Killeya-Jones, 6-10 Wenyen Gabriel, and 6-10 Tai Wunyard in the Kentucky class of 2016!
