John Calipari and his Kentucky staff added another piece to their recruiting class with the commitment of 6-9 power forward Edrice “Bam” Adebayo from High Point, NC Christian Academy.
He chose Kentucky over N.C. State and Auburn his three finalists.
Adebayo was a beast at the Top 100 camp in June, dominating the glass and scoring over and through opponents in the paint with regularity. He followed that up with a strong summer with Team Loaded averaging 14.2 points and 10.6 boards for the summer.
He is an extremely cut and agile 240-pound athletic big who can out quick or out run other bigs from end to end. He has an almost Karl Malone type physique that could develop even further as he matures. He has soft hands, knows how to seal opponents on both offense and the glass and has the tools to make an immediate impact for the Wildcats next fall. He will be an important piece to the puzzle as Coach Cal looks to re-load next year at Kentucky!
He joins No.10 rated 6-3 point De’Aaron Fox, No.16 rated 6-9 power forward Wenyen Gabriel, N0.26 rated 6-11 forward Sasha Killeya-Jones, and 6-10 center Tai Wynyard in the Kentucky Class of 2016!
