Greg Gard and his Wisconsin staff have added one of the best shooters in the Class of 2018 with the commitment of top fifty prospect 6-4 Tyler Herro from Greenfield, WI Whitnall High.

He chose Wisconsin over Indiana, Boston College, Purdue, Marquette, Creighton, and Iowa State.

“Choosing Wisconsin was a no brainer,” Herro told the Journal Sentinel. “It fits what me and my family want in a school.”

He made his decision after visiting the Wisconsin campus over the weekend for the Akron football game last weekend.

Herro is one of the top shooters in the junior class, and showed he can really light it up in a number of games we watched this summer for the Wisconsin Playground Warriors hitting five or six threes in more that five occasions while we were in the stands. But, its not just his ability to shoot the ball, but his skills with the ball, creatting the drive or hitting open teammates with the pass that make him special. He will make an immediate impression with the Badgers once he arrives in Madison.

Herro is the first recruit in the Class of 2018 for the Badgers. Wisconsin has had a strong start to their 2017 class that features 6-10 forward Nathan Reuvers, 6-2 combo guard Brad Davison, and 6-4 swing man Kobe King.
