New St. Louis U. Head Coach Travis Ford and his Billikens staff add one of the top point guards in the Midwest in 6-4 Jordan Goodwin, a top sixty national prospect, from Bellville, IL Althof High.
He chose St. Louis over Illinois, with Alabama, Creighton, Butler, Missouri, and Northwestern being eliminated over the past few weeks after he cut his list to seven schools prior to July open period.
Goodwin was a key recruit for Coach Ford, as he runs the show for the Nike sponsored St. Louis Eagles program and it was imperative that Coach Ford needed to show he can compete for top players locally to build a foundation to bring the Billikens back to prominence nationally. And Goodwin is just one of those players, he has a top sixty pedigree and should make an immediate impact for SLU, as they look to build the program.
He is a tough physical point who can flat out attack the rim off the dribble and finish versus contact or dump it to open man for the assist. he has a high basketball I.Q> and will give Coach Ford a tough and athletic coach on the floor type leader. Definitely a talent you can build the program around and move forward with!
He has the tools to become a pied piper of sorts with local talent, but is respected enough nationally to give St. Louis a draw with high quality prep talent, especially in the Nike EYBL circuit!
