Mike Brey and his Notre Dame staff scored a big-time get with the commitment of 6-6 wing man D.J. Harvey, a top twenty-five talent, from Hyattsville, MD DeMatha Catholic.
“Coach Brey has been involved with me from day one,” Harvey said. “I just felt he was the right coach for me, and that Notre Dame was the right school.”
He chose Notre Dame over Alabama, Texas, and Connecticut.
Harvey is a skilled wing with long arms who can attack the rim and finish over bigs in traffic. He has a solid pull-up game and wis fast developing a more than credible jumper from around the arc. As his consistency from deep improves watch out he will be tough to handle in the half court because of his quick first step and ability to finish versus contact. He has really come on as a lock down defender over the past year and will give Coach Brey a talent that can effect the game on both ends of the court.
He is the first Fighting Irish recruit in the Class of 2017!
