Tom Crean and his Indiana staff dipped into the Windy City to add another top one hundred talent in 6-7 Justin Smith from Chicago, IL Adlai Stevenson High and the Mac Irvin Fire.

He chose Indiana over national champion Villanova after taking official visits to both schools this fall. According to sources close to his recruitment he chose Indiana because he wanted to be closer to home where his friends and family could see him play.

Smith is a big-time athlete with great length and hops to score over or around bigs off the drive. He has really improved his jump shot with range to the arc, that makes him a scary talent to guard and contain. He is an explosive rebounder who can start break off the glass, then sprint to other end and be involved on the finish. He will electrify the crowd in Assembly Hall with his high flying dunks and great help side blocks. No doubt he is one of top athletes in the class of 2017!

He joins highly regarded 6-4 shooting guard Aljami Durham in the Hoosiers Class of 2017!.
