The Fall Evaluation period is over and as most teams are getting ready to head to the numerous Holiday Tournaments across the country, I think its time we take a look at the top young talent across the country starting with the nation’s top sophomores, the Class of 2020!
Although, no one player has broken away from the lead pack to date, a trio of exceptional offensive talents, 6’9 Isaiah Todd (pictured above), 6’5 Jalen Green, and 6’3 Jalen Suggs have separated themselves slightly from the rest of the top ten. Each is uniquely different, but they all have shown the ability to dominate the game. Todd is long, blocks shots and loves to attack the rim. The explosive Green can create highlights, knock down jumpers and is a terror off the dribble for opponents. While Suggs has the tools to run the show, create for others and put up thirty anytime he steps on court. At this point they are almost to close to call!
But, they won’t be able to rest on their laurels, they are going to have to continue to get better to hold off talents like 6’4 R.J. Hampton, 6’6 Gregory Brown, 6’5 Kyree Walker, 6’5 Jalen Johnson, 6’6 Scottie Barnes, 7’0 Hunter Dickinson, and 6’2 Jeremy Roach who round out the top ten. The Class seems to have good depth and plenty of raw size, so we will see lots of changes, not only at the top, but throughout the elite talent over the next two years as we evaluate more and more of the talent in the Sophomore class.
So, with that in mind, here is how we see the nation’s top rising sophomores today, as we take a look at my FutureStars Class of 2020 Top 80 and other talents to watch:
