Bruce Pearl and his Auburn staff have added a top notch junior talent in 6-10 power forward E.J. Montgomery, a top ten talent, from Montverde, FL Academy.

He chose Auburn over interest from Duke, Kentucky, Baylor, and UCLA.

Montgomery averaged 9.8 points and 9.3 rebounds with the Atlanta Celtics in the Adidas Gauntlet series this past spring and summer. He is a mobile big man with the ability to face the hoop from 17-feet, knock down jumper or attack off the dribble versus opposing bigs! He has excellent passing skills, especially out of the post, gets on glass and starts break with quick outlet pass. He will give the Tigers another quality big man who can either team with future teammate Austin Wiley inside or be his replacemnet if he ends up heading to NBA after one year.

He is the first Tiger recruit in the Class of 2018, but will join a talented trio who have already committed in 2017, 6-10 center Austin Wiley, 6-8 Chuma Okeke, and 6-2 lead guard Davion Mitchell to give the Tigers a deep core to build around for the next 3-4 years at Auburn.
