Dana Altman and his Oregon staff went back to their old stomping grounds in the Midwest to pull off a recruiting coup, by adding 6’9 post man Francis Okoro, our No.30 rated junior, from Normal, IL Community West.

He chose Oregon over Illinois and Purdue.

Rumor has it that he chose Oregon because he may re-classify and enter the Class of 2018 this fall, since he turns 19 in August and only needs to complete one course this summer to qualify. Stay tuned on that!

If not, he will be in the hunt for a spot on the McDonald’s squad and has shown this spring in EYBL play, for Bradley Beal, that he can dominate the paint, especially on the defense end of the court. He is a physical rebounder and shot blocker with a 7’1 wingspan who has really improved his use of his body on the blocks to become an effective low block threat.

If he joins the Ducks Class of 2018, he will allow Bol Bol, the Duck’s top recruit to play away from the basket, and give Altman’s squad a post who can play thru contact!
