Leonard Hamilton and his Florida State Staff have added one of the top shot blockers in the country when they signed 7-0 center Ikey Obiagu, our No.43 rated senior, from Decatur, Ga Greenforest Academy.

“It’s the Big-Time competition in the ACC,” Obiagu said in a text message. “Huge chance to play and make an impact right away. Great coaches and program.”

He chose Florida State over Baylor, Maryland, Georgia Tech and Long Beach State.

Obiagu is a real rim protector who can block shots with best in class, he uses his length to rebound outside his zone and is just starting to develop a real low post presence on the offensive end using a drop step and jump hook to score over and through opposing post defenders.

He joins a deep class that features forwards 6-7 Raiquan Gray and 6-8 Wyatt Wilkes, 6-7 wing Anthony Polite and 6-4 shooting guard Bryan Trimble Jr.
