Ben Jacobson and his UNI staff got a major boost for the future when A.J. Green, our No.75 rated senior, from Cedar Falls, IA High  decided to stay home and play for his dad Kyle at Northern Iowa!
“It’s been great always being around the players and having a good relationship with all the players and all the coaches throughout my whole life,” A.J. Green said. I’ve always being up at UNI, in the gym has been pretty cool.”
“It just felt right for me to go to UNI,” he said. “My family will be able to come to every game.”
He chose UNI over Iowa State, Virginia, Gonzaga, Clemson, and Iowa.
Green averaged 21.5 points a game as a junior, showing great range hitting 43.4 percent accuracy on 3-pointers. He extended that play in the Adidas Gauntlet this spring and summer where he was the floor leader for the Iowa Barnstormers who made the semi-finals of both the Gauntlet and Adidas Summer Championship series.
He is an exceptional shooter who sees the court and makes the defense pay with his shot or the pass. he has an exceptional knack for seeing the pass as the play develops and is the kind of player that teammates love to play with.
That talent could lead to a number of players joining him in the future at UNI, something that should excite Panther fans as they look forward to multiple NCAA appearances with A.J. at the point spot in Cedar Falls!
